Methodology
MarketBase collects metrics from connected sources (Google Search Console, Stripe) and normalizes them with explicit verification status. We never label estimates as verified.

Data collection
- verified — verified — direct from authorized integration
- calculated — calculated — derived using documented formulas (e.g. churn)
- estimated — estimated — model-based, always labeled
- public — public — demo/seed dataset
Market Rank
Separate dimension ranks (MRR, revenue, SEO, growth, customers) combine into Market Rank using versioned weights stored with each snapshot. Ranks always show #n / total.

Refresh cycle
Production imports run on a 48-hour schedule via background workers.
AI classification
Structured JSON output validated against schema; used for market/niche assignment, not for revenue figures.
Limits and interpretation
Public and demo values are not automatically verified. A missing value means that MarketBase does not have a comparable public signal. Rankings are relative to the available dataset and are not valuations.
Corrections and updates
Public profiles should be corrected through the MarketBase contact process. Each published metric keeps its source, status and collection date so a change can be reviewed.
Methodology version
Ranking snapshots store a formula version and configuration. Changes to the formula should be reviewed as a new methodology version rather than silently mixed with older snapshots.
